With the start of this new year I decided I would start a new tradition. After graduating with my master’s I found that I was reading less and when I did pick up a book it was pretty random. So this year I decided to make a list and therefor a goal on the number of books I read.
I wanted to make sure that I read a variety of books. Some were books that I had come across throughout last year and thought, “huh, I should read that”. And others are ones that were recommended by friends. My goal is to read 35 books.
Here is a taste of what I will be reading this year.
What are you reading this year? How do you decide what books you are going to read?

Laura, I hadn’t thought of it, I mostly read whatever crosses my path but I have been meaning to read more about writing memoirs as its something I’ve had on a bucket list forever! I’m also an art history fan and want to go back and read more about the old masters. I have to share that I used to read a lot of fantasy stuff, mostly vampire books, etc., I’ve given those up and watching their spinnoffs as well. Go god!
I have been reading “The Art of Neighboring: Building Genuine Relationships Right Outside Your Door” by Jay Pathak and Dave Runyon. It has really challenged me to reach out more and make friends with the people who live right in my neighborhood.
